IN HER SHOES - PROGRAM DETAILS

Join us in advance of the Furman Women's Game for In Her Shoes, A Program to Inspire Young Women to be Future Leaders. The speaker session will take place ahead of the women's game on February 4, 2023. The event will provide a unique opportunity for elementary, middle, and high school-aged students to engage with successful, female leaders in their respective careers.

This program coincides with the Furman vs. Wofford double header taking place at Bon Secours Wellness Arena Saturday, February 4th. The 3 PM women’s game will have several initiatives focused on the 50th anniversary of Title IX and Girls & Women in Sports. Many Furman University women’s programs will be in attendance for this game set up along the arena concourse with information booths.

“In Her Shoes is going to be an incredible launch pad for our young female leaders in the Upstate. Empowered women empower women, and that’s what this event is all about. My goal is to challenge every attendee to view herself, her future, and her goals with a new lens... and then go get them!” – Beth Paul.

In Her Shoes will be held at Bon Secours Wellness Arena on Saturday, February 4 from 1:00pm – 2:00pm, followed by a reception and admission to the Furman Paladins Double Header Basketball games. The Lady Paladins will take on the Wofford Terriers in a conference match-up at The Well, followed by the Paladin Men, taking on Wofford Men’s Basketball.

The session will include keynote speaker Dr. Elizabeth Davis, President of Furman University along with a question and answer session including panelists from the medical, legal and sports, and entertainment fields.

The Q&A panel will include Beth Paul, General Manager of Bon Secours Wellness Arena, Jenny Wehrs, COO of Bon Secours St. Francis, Captain Patricia Mullinax of Greenville Police Department, and a guest appearance from Lady Paladin Head Coach, Jackie Carson.

“The goal of In Her Shoes is to bring together the future female leaders of our community,” says Beth Paul, General Manager of Bon Secours Wellness Arena. “Programs that encourage leadership, confidence and empowerment in aspiring young women are critical, and In Her Shoes is designed to provide insight and inspiration to young women to achieve greatness as students and leaders.”

Admission to the event is $20.00 per person, and includes the program, refreshments and the both Furman Paladin Basketball games.
