The SEC announced a three-year extension with Greenville, S.C. to host the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in 2026, 2027 and 2028.

The SEC Women's Basketball Tournament makes it's ninth trip to Greenville, S.C. this March. The city previously hosted the event in 2005, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2023, 2024 and 2025.

The winner of the tournament receives the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The event has helped set the stage for SEC teams in the NCAA Tournament, as 32 of the conference tournament champions have advanced to at least the Sweet 16. Four of the last 14 SEC Tournament champions have gone on to win the national championship. The SEC Tournament Champion has failed to win at least one NCAA Tournament game only twice.

Tennessee leads the league with 17 SEC Tournament titles. South Carolina is second with nine, Vanderbilt has six, while Auburn, Georgia, each have four. LSU has two with Kentucky, Mississippi State and Texas A&M having each won one SEC Tournament championship.
